I turned 35 on August 20th it feels great. We decided to take mom's boat out to the lake. It was such a beautiful sunny day. I loved every moment with my family. I am so grateful for all that I have, and to be able to have another year. It was a perfect day!!!

We got to see Grandma off at the airport. She was off to the MTC on July 19th. We will miss you like crazy, but always support you in all that you do. What a great example she is to our family.

Brian and Jennifer were able to come down to Arizona to visit with us in July. It was so much fun to spend time with their family. They are truly missed when they aren't here. Kinlyn is still talking about how beautiful the girls are.

Making Pear-Apple Jam

2 cups peeled, cored, and finely chopped pears
1 cup peeled, cored, and finely chopped apples
6- 1/2 cups sugar
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
1/3 cup bottled lemon juice
6 oz liquid pectin

Crush apples and pears in a large saucepan and stir in cinnamon. Thoroughly mix sugar and lemon juice with fruits and bring to a boil over high heat, stirring constantly. Immediately stir in pectin. Bring to a full rolling boil and boil hard 1 minute, stirring constantly. Remove from heat, quickly skim off foam, and fill sterile jars leaving 1/4-inch headspace.

I got some pears from bountiful baskets so my
mom and I canned a few jars. Then we made this
yummy pear-apple jam. It smells soooo good.
It put me in the mood for the holidays.

Proposition 102

Last night I had the opportunity to volunteer at the prop 102 phone bank. It was very interesting to say the least. We each called about a hundred people. We told them we were volunteering for the yes for marriage campaign. We asked them for their support in voting yes on this proposition. I got many different responses to this. I have to say the majority said they were voting yes. There was a man who said we should be able to live however we choose. But when he was told how it is going to affect our children in the education system, our churches wont be able to refuse to perform gay marriage. He changed his mind, so that made me happy. And others who told me I love gays I'm voting no. Then one response I found uneasy was a man and his boyfriend are trying to get married right now. As I was driving home I reflected on what happened and what is going on in our world and in the homes. And how hard Satan is working on people. If he can make it look ok, or if we don't except this we are not nice people. I really think it is the last days before the savior comes again. I reflected in my life and the improvements I need to make. And the list is long...... But I know one thing I want to be on the Lord's side. And I am so grateful for the knowledge I have of the true gospel and of my savior Jesus Christ.

The Brick

A young and successful executive was traveling down a neighborhood street, going a bit too fast in his new Jaguar. he was watching for kids darting out from between parked cars and slowed down. When he thought he saw something. As his car passed, no children appeared. Instead, a brick smashed into the Jag's side door! He slammed on the brakes and backed the Jag back to the spot where the brick had been thrown. The angry driver then jumped out of the car, grabbed the nearest kid and pushed him up against a parked car shouting, "What was that all about and who are you? Just what the heck are you doing? That's a new car and that brick you threw is going to cost a lot of money. Why did you do it?" The young boy was apologetic. "Please, mister... please, I'm sorry but I didn't know what else to do," He pleaded. "I threw the brick because no one else would stop..." With tears dripping down his face and off his chin, the youth pointed to a spot just around a parked car. "It's my brother," he said. "He rolled off the curb and fell out of his wheelchair and I can't lift him up."

Now sobbing, the boy asked the stunned executive, "would you please help me get him back into his wheelchair? He's hurt and he's too heavy for me."

Moved beyond words, the driver tried to swallow the rapidly swelling lump in his throat. He hurriedly lifted the handicapped boy back into the wheelchair, then took out a linen handkerchief and dabbed at the fresh scrapes and cuts. A quick look told him everything was going to be okay. "Thank you and may God bless you," the grateful child told the stranger. Too shook up for words, the man simply watched the boy! push his wheelchair-bound brother down the sidewalk toward their home.

It was a long, slow walk back to the Jaguar. The damage was very noticeable, but the driver never bothered to repair the dented side door. He kept the dent there to remind him of this message: "Don't go through life so fast that someone has to throw a brick at you to get your attention!" God whispers in our souls and speaks to our hearts. Sometimes when we don't have time to listen, He has to throw a brick at us. It's our choice to listen or not.

I'm finally starting a blog yeah! It sometimes takes me longer than everybody else to get it down. I love life and I love my family. Some of my greatest blessings call me mom. I feel very blessed to have such wonderful children. Paul will be fourteen in October, and is in eighth grade. He's the big man on campus this year. He is enjoying scouts. Hopefully we'll have an eagle scout in the next year or two. Ryan's son Cortlin got to come spend a month with us in June. He lives in Utah and we miss him alot. He turned twelve in July and is in sixth grade this year. Kinlyn is my little sunshine. She is three years old and has enough energy for everybody. She is my sidekick, she loves to do whatever mommy is doing. And I love every minute of it. Ryan recently got a new job with Jahn's Tractor Service as a mechanic. He seems to really like it alot. I still do massage therapy three days a week. I love it! My life has truly been bleesed in so many ways. I'm grateful for friends and family who keep my testimony strong.
